3 of them, each one set only because of something you did. Nothing here tracks you.
This wording has not been reviewed by a solicitor.
It is a working draft written to describe how Kickroom actually operates, and it sets out the statutory rights Irish and EU law already give you. It is not legal advice, and it has not been checked by a qualified adviser. Have it reviewed before trading.
The complete list
| Name | Purpose | Life |
|---|---|---|
| kr_cart | A random identifier so your basket is still there when you come back. It holds no name, no email and no card data — just a key to a basket row. | 30 days |
| kr_wish | The items you pressed Save on. It holds the product codes and nothing else, it is only written when you press Save, and it is never read by anything but this site. | 180 days |
| kr_admin | Signs a staff member in to the admin area. Never set for a customer. | 8 hours |
This table is generated from the same list the code sets its cookies from, so it cannot quietly fall behind the site.
Both are HttpOnly, so no script can read them, and SameSite=Lax, so they are not sent from another site's pages. In production both are also Secure.
Why there is no consent banner
Because there is nothing to consent to. Under regulation 5 of SI 336/2011, cookies strictly necessary to provide a service you asked for do not require consent. All of ours qualify: one carries your basket, one holds the items you pressed Save on, one logs staff in. None is written until you do something that needs it.
A banner would be theatre. If we ever add advertising or cross-site measurement, this page changes and a real consent banner appears with it — off by default.
Third parties
No analytics, no advertising, no third-party script of any kind is requested by this site.
Stripe sets its own cookies on Stripe's checkout pages, which are a different domain governed by Stripe's policy; you go there only when you choose to pay.
What we do and do not collect is set out in the privacy policy.
Turning them off
Your browser can block them. Blocking kr_cart means the basket empties on every page, so you will not be able to check out. That is the trade, and it is why they are described as necessary.
