The details

A candle only releases its full scent once the wax pool melts, which normally means burning it down with an open flame. This lamp gets the same melted-wax scent by warming the candle from above with a bulb, so the candle never needs lighting at all.

Set the candle underneath the shade, switch the lamp on, and the bulb's heat gradually melts the top layer of wax rather than the whole candle burning down. Scent releases the same way it would from a lit candle, but without smoke, soot or an open flame to watch over.

Expect a lamp base with a shade positioned over a bulb, sized to sit above a standard jar candle. It runs on mains power through a plug adaptor, and the bulb is usually a low-wattage type made specifically for the warming effect rather than a standard bulb.

This suits anyone who likes scented candles but is cautious around open flames, has pets or children in the house, or simply wants scent without needing to keep an eye on a lit wick.

Why we stock it

  • Releases candle scent without ever lighting a flame

  • No smoke or soot from an open flame to manage

  • Works with a standard jar candle placed underneath the shade

  • Suits households with pets or children where open flames are a concern

Good to know

Does this replace the candle flame entirely?

Yes — the candle is never lit. The bulb's heat melts the top layer of wax from above, releasing scent the same way burning would, but without any open flame.

Will it work with any candle jar size?

It's sized for a standard jar candle. Check the specific listing's dimensions if your candle is unusually tall or wide.

Is the bulb a standard household bulb?

It's usually a low-wattage bulb made specifically for the warming effect rather than a standard household bulb, so use the replacement type specified by the supplier.
