The details
Most kitchen knives go dull because the sharpening angle drifts a little on every stroke. This sharpener takes the guesswork out: the knife rests against a 20° angle block, and a cylinder with diamond-coated discs rolls along the edge.
The cylinder carries a coarse 400-grit disc and a finer disc, so you can reset a dull edge and then refine it. Because the knife lies against the block, the angle stays the same from heel to tip without any freehand technique.
The set is two pieces, the angle block and the sharpening cylinder. The cylinder is about 9 cm long and 5.5 cm across, and the block is about 10.7 cm by 6.1 cm, with feet underneath to help it stay put on a worktop. It stores easily in a kitchen drawer.
It is made for straight-edged kitchen knives. It isn't suitable for serrated bread knives, scissors or ceramic blades.
Why we stock it
Angle block holds the knife at a steady 20°, no freehand technique needed
Coarse and finer diamond discs to reset and refine an edge
Compact two-piece set that fits in a kitchen drawer
Feet under the block help it stay put while you sharpen
Good to know
Will this work on my serrated bread knife?
No. It is built for straight-edged kitchen knives. A serrated edge needs a different tool, and using this sharpener on one can damage the teeth.
Does it work on ceramic knives?
No. It is designed for steel kitchen knives; a ceramic blade needs a different sharpener.
What grits do the discs have?
The cylinder pairs a coarse 400-grit disc with a finer one. Follow the instructions in the box for how to use them.
