About the set
Surging Sparks launched on 8 November 2024 as the eighth English Scarlet & Violet expansion, and it is defined by one card. The Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rare became the most talked-about pull of the year on release, driving box prices well above the sets either side of it. Beyond the headline card it is a large, deep expansion with a strong Lightning-type identity and a full slate of Illustration Rares.
