About the set
Disney Lorcana launched in Japan on 25 January 2025, distributed by Takara Tomy under licence from Ravensburger, and the Japanese releases have tracked the English ones set for set. From May 2026 the two run close to simultaneously — the Japanese Wilds Unknown arrived on 8 May 2026, a week ahead of the English wide release. The card list is the same 204, but the box is not: Japanese boxes hold 16 packs of 7 cards rather than 24 of 12.

Why collectors hold it
Japanese Lorcana is barely eighteen months old, and the print runs are sized for a market where the game is still establishing itself rather than for the established English audience. Smaller boxes at a smaller scale is the same setup that made early Japanese Pokémon prints scarce, and the artwork is identical to the English cards collectors already want.
